Voices

"Gaia House is always changing, be it with the people who stop by, the events that are offered, or the interior decorations. But the one thing that has never faltered is what familiars and strangers alike agree on: 'I am home'."

~Acaisha Buffo speaking at the Gaia House Interfaith Center Hospitality Meeting

New in This Issue:
  • A Call for Caulkers As we continue our efforts to revive Gaia House Interfaith Center and improve its sustainability, we will soon be caulking up the windows and walls. Many hands make light work, and we are looking to our wonderfully diverse community for anyone who wants to help with the effort! Please email the office if you have experience caulking and would like to help. If you want to help but don't know how, we are also very grateful for any donations of caulk or caulk guns. Thank you for helping us keep it together!

    This Week at Gaia House

    GAIA HOUSE HOSPITALITY

Eight students, board and community members met in the Dave Columbo Library on July 21st to share stories about how Gaia House has touched their lives and how they first decided to come in our door. The themes of social action, peace, dancing and eating together were touched on. We concluded that Gaia House has been a place of hospitality since it opened in 1961 at its current location and even before.

Here is a list of the groups currently meeting at Gaia House Interfaith Center. We welcome you to come enjoy the varieties of hospitality we are offering this summer.

    INTERVEG POTLUCK
    THURSDAY, JULY 29 @ 6:00 PM

The InterVeg Forum series is laying fallow for the summer, but the meals are still going strong! Not a vegatarian? Not a problem! All are welcome to come enjoy a good meal and a chance to play in the garden. Those tomatoes are about ready to fall off the vine!

    RICE & SPICE
    FRIDAY, JULY 30 @ 6:00 PM

There is no scheduled chef or theme this week but that won't keep us from enjoying each others' company as we cook and eat together.

We are looking for main chefs for the summer and fall to showcase their food and culture. Interested in being a chef? Feel free to email Aur Beck if you'd like to coordinate your own slow-food meal. Send a list of ingredients (within our budget) you need us to get so we can help you to prepare and share your tasty food.
