Voices
"It is not so much human beings that are rescued, but the earth. The
earth continues to be dependent on human beings for its cultivation,
but the ongoing existence of the earth and all living beings is
detached from, or made independent of, the actions of human beings,
good and bad...The law of the succession of the seasons and days will
impose its rhythms on generations of human beings. It is the time of
the earth that counts.

Gaia House Interfaith Center Newsletter for June 29, 2010
In this Issue:
The Kitchen Looks Fantastic! Our most heartfelt gratitude goes out to the volunteers extraordinaire that turned the kitchen upside-down Thursday night. The effort was spectacular.
Thanks to their incredible work, we are pleased to announce that the kitchen is open once more, and we plan to make good use of it with this week's dinners. The meals we share at Gaia House Interfaith Center are one of our most popular and important sources of community and interaction. Thank you so much for working so hard to make it possible.
Gaia-Cycle Have you heard of Freecycle, the online community that recycles by giving away unwanted items to others who want them? Well we could probably start a chapter in the basement! Check out the table downstairs by the big double doors and take anything you like! There's pottery, dishes, and much more to pick through. Whatever you don't take will be donated, so don't be shy!
This Week at Gaia House
INTERVEG POTLUCK THURSDAY, JULY 1 @ 6:00 PM The InterVeg Forum series has concluded for the semester, but the meals are still going strong! Come enjoy a good meal and a chance to play in the garden. Not a vegatarian? Not a problem!
RICE & SPICE FRIDAY, JULY 2 @ 6:00 PM This week Steve and Rory are donning the chef hats for an All-American Slow-Food Dinner to celebrate the 4th of July! All are welcome to come and enjoy cooking and eating together.
We are looking for main chefs for the summer and fall to showcase their food and culture. Interested in being a chef? Feel free to email Aur Beck if you'd like to coordinate your own slow-food meal. Send a list of ingredients you need for us to get (within our budget) as we help you to pass on your tasty food.
