Voices

"The labyrinth is a large. complex spiral circle, which is an ancient symbol for the Divine Mother, the God Within, the Goddess, the Holy of all creation. Matriarchal spirituality celebrates the hidden and the unseen. It is often symbolized by the cycles of the moon that guide the growing seasons as well as the inner map of knowing in women. For many of us the feminine aspect of the Divine has been painfully absent from our lives, our spirituality and our Western culture. The Divine feminine is often the missing piece for which both women and men are seeking."

~Dr. Lauren Artress, from Walking a Sacred Path

  • Opporunities for Spiritual Growth One of the best parts of Gaia House Interfaith Center is the variety of our groups and programs, and the way everyone is always welcome, regardless of ones own path. That way we are able to grow as a group in many different ways, and to experience so much spiritual and world culture without even having to leave town! This week we have two more welcoming spiritual practices to invite you to. Can you spot them below?

    This Week at Gaia House

    SUMMER LABYRINTH WALKS
    MONDAY - FRIDAY @ 8:30 AM

Come join a morning walk that will sometimes be guided and sometimes be free form. Walking with a group, however large or small adds new dimmensions to our meditations and walking with community strengthens our prayers, petitions and celebrations. Make this a part of your spiritual practice, whatever faith tradition you are from. All are welcome.

    STEWARDSHIP AND SUSTAINABILITY COMMITTEE MEETING
    THURSDAY, JUNE 24 @ NOON

Another product of our visioning, this committee will develop and help impliment ways to take care of what we have and increase revenue in the coming months and years.

If you are interested but can not make this meeting time, email the office and we will schedule the next meeting for everyone's availability as best as we can.

    INTERVEG POTLUCK
    THURSDAY, JUNE 24 @ 6:00 PM

The InterVeg Forum series has concluded for the semester, but the meals are still going strong! Come enjoy a good meal and a chance to play in the garden. Not a vegatarian? Not a problem!

    RICE & SPICE
    FRIDAY, JUNE 25 @ 6:00 PM

There is no scheduled theme this week, but that won't stop us from using our abundant crops from the CSA to cook and eat together!

We are looking for main chefs for the summer and fall to showcase their food and culture. Send a list of ingredients you need for us to get (within our budget) as we help you to pass on your tasty food.

Interested in being a chef? Feel free to email Aur Beck if you'd like to coordinate your own slow-food meal.

    SOIL CHORUS
    CHANT & SONG CIRCLE
    SATURDAY, JUNE 26 @ 2:00 PM

This is a gathering to share songs and chants of an Earth-centered nature. New people are always welcome! If you have a favorite chant or song, bring it along. If you have a drum and would like to drum, bring that along too. And if you're new to chanting and have no chants or songs of your own, then you are especially encouraged to attend. We have more than enough to share.

    BOARD MEETING
    MONDAY, JUNE 28 @ 5:30 PM
    FIRST CHRISTIAN CHURCH

Click the above link for directions.
